I believe that small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy. Farmers and ranchers are small businesses as well, and we need to support both. We need to cut red tape where possible and work hard to grow jobs, improve the business environment, and support agriculture.

I am a conservative which is why I favor lower taxes and fiscal responsibility. Lower taxes and fees means you get to keep more of your paycheck. I also believe there needs to be a common sense approach to spending - if you don't have it, you can't spend it. Plus it doesn't hurt to save some for a rainy day either. 

We can't spend wastefully in our own budget, so we shouldn't with the state budget either. Let's flush the waste out of Pierre.

As a hunter and a board member of the Mitchell Friends of NRA,

I strongly support the second amendment. Hunting is a great tradition in South Dakota and needs to be protected and preserved. Your family also needs to be protected, which is why I also believe the second amendment, without a doubt, provides for self defense.

I strongly support good funding for childhood education, good pay for our teachers and educators, along with local and parental control. I am pro-life and would support pro-life legislation ending abortion in South Dakota. 

I am a Christian and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, small business owner, a few years ago I volunteered to assist the rodeo committee, I have been actively involved in the Davison County Republican Party for over 9 years, and attended 4 state conventions (this will be my 5th), I have served as a Republican Precinct Committeeman during that time, and 3 years ago our county party selected me to be our Committeeman to represent Davison County at statewide meetings. For the last few years I have also been a member of the Mitchell Friends of the NRA and helped organize banquets, do charitable fundraising, and helped decide how the proceeds are spent to help support gun safety classes, hunters education courses, and youth shooting sports.
